UPDATED JUNE 2026
In my free time, I revisited and reworked this character model, which I originally created rather quickly for my mini game Lost.
For this update, I refined the proportions, added more detail, and completely recreated the textures from scratch. My main goal was to achieve a stylized look while maintaining a sense of realism. To accomplish this, I incorporated watercolor-inspired patches and hand-painted details into the texturing process, combining them with realistic material behavior and shading.
One of the biggest challenges was finding the right balance between stylization and realism without letting either aspect overpower the other. The wings, with their intricate design and subtle translucency, were particularly demanding but also among the most rewarding and enjoyable parts of the project.
The character concept was designed by me. I used ZBrush for modeling, Substance Painter for texturing and map generation, and Blender for shading and rendering. For the turntables, I used a free studio setup template.
